Playoffs in full swing in other states

Cumberland Gap(10-1), TW's season opening opponent, goes on the road to Gatlinburg tonight for a rematch with Gatlinburg-Pittman(10-1) the only team they lost to in the regular season. Panther QB Adam Nelson has passed for over 2600 yards and 29 TD's this season. GP won 32-21 earlier in the season when they knocked Nelson out of the game with a concussion. Should be a great game.

Middlesboro KY(8-3), a team that Lee High beat 20-19, goes on the road to the #2 2A team in KY, Corbin(10-1) tonight. Corbin, who's led by QB Clint Cashen who's passed for more than 2000 yards this season. The Yellow Jackets will be without their starting QB Hunter Adams. Corbin already beat the Jackets 48-15 this season so this one could be ugly.

Bell County KY(11-0), is at home against Rockcastle(6-5), a team they've already beaten 24-0 this year. Rockcastle held them to the fewest points and yards they've had all season. Bell has never beaten Rockcastle twice in the same season. Should be an interesting game.

They were in quarter swing in VA last week. Some AAA playoff games were played.

Out of the 3 games I listed, Cumberland Gap lost 30-24, Middlesboro lost 28-13, and Bell County won 35-0 to extend their record to 12-0 and tighten their grip on the number 1 ranking in class 4A. By the way, Breathitt County is undefeated in class 3A in KY too, as they won tonight.

I know the football team at Berea Community would probably lose to Twin Springs.

Hey, kydawg, from what you know, is Madison Southern usually in the playoffs?

I dunno about that. Rockcastle is usually one of the better team in Southeast KY and in the regular season they held Bell to only 24 points. Well all know what Volunteer did to Clintwood, and Bell destroyed Volunteer.

KY expanded their playoffs when they realigned over the Summer - about 90% of the teams got in this year.
